Working as a casual social worker in a hospital is a bit like being on a roller coaster. Only the roller coaster contains passengers who make you cry because they are lovely and full of cancer or they tell you a story in a warbled voice or because they tell you to F*&K RIGHT OFF and your brain is scraped with sandpaper from being on call and the roller coaster makes you ask why in the F-sharp you didn’t go into accounting and then the roller coaster makes a direct deposit and someone on the roller coaster says “Thank you” with tears in his eyes and so you decide to do another round on the roller coaster.
