Slaughter in the Cove

Slaughter in the Cove

This entry will not be my most eloquent; sometimes it’s more about the timing than the phrasing. Today I feel particularly heartsick and don’t want to create a pages-long entry about the fate dolphins suffer at the hands of humans. I will simply say that the hunt is on and ask that if you love dolphins, please don’t be a bystander on this one. Check out Sea Shepherd (seashepherd.org/cove-guardians) or Save Japan Dolphins (savejapandolphins.org) to see what you can do to help our marine fellows. And please, tweeters, sing sing sing!

Advice from Someone Who Knows the Explored from the Unexplored

Advice from Someone Who Knows the Explored from the Unexplored

Ask me how much I want to cry for not finding this photo in time to embed it in the Dec. 31 post. ASK ME! Yet I cannot let my frustration deprive you of the pithy wisdom of Captain J.-L. Picard.

P.S. In unrelated news, by noon today, Canada’s top CEOs have already made more money in ’14 than average you and average me and our average neighbours will make over the whole 365. YAY unchecked capitalism! I’m sure they give it all to charity.
